“Bush Country” is a representation of my home on Noongar Country in the south-west of Western Australia. It is a place where family are deeply connected to the Boodja. It tells the story of the bush which has always surrounded me, where generations have gathered to share stories, laughter, knowledge and culture.

The pathways in “Bush Country” show family connection to the land, reminding us that every journey leads back to Country. The bush is more than a landscape; it is a place of healing, strength and remembrance that always remains “home.” This connection between people, Country and culture promotes a sense of belonging that can only be found on Noongar Boodja. “Bush Country” reflects my memories of my home in the bush at Yarramoup (Jerramungup), where my mother would take us on walking tracks to find bush food and lovely resting places. The colours represent the beautiful wildflowers, soils and rock formations of my home Boodja.
