Krubi Creative

Clara, Sharon and Emily are three talented sisters from the Bidgywan (water dragon) people, hailing from the Burra Burra and Burragorang clan groups of the Gundungurra Nation. They have joined forces to create Krubi Creative, a family-run small business where each sibling brings their own unique flair to the table.

The sister's personalities shine through in their designs, resulting in a captivating blend of styles that works harmoniously. Nature is a significant source of inspiration for the sisters, and they use symbolism to convey the importance of certain elements of the natural world to their people. They also share ancient songlines that have been passed down for generations within the Gundungurra Nation. Many of their pieces feature arches, which represent the Gundungurra people's belief that large mountains are spirits frozen in time, adding a fascinating depth to their artwork.

The sisters excel at combining various techniques in their artworks, using intricate line work, repetitive patterns, dots, and contemporary designs that incorporate flowers and other culturally significant elements. Many of their pieces are centred around river systems, which are of great importance to the Gundungurra Nation and surrounding Nations, providing healing and essential natural resources.

Through their art, the sisters at Krubi Creative are passionate about keeping Aboriginal culture thriving and growing. As descendants of the Bidgywan people, they take pride in celebrating their heritage and showcasing the beauty they have cherished and are honoured to call their lineage.
